New FIA Guidance document – Fire alarm considerations for people with sensory sensitivities

The Fire Industry Association (FIA) has developed a guidance document on fire alarm considerations for people with sensory sensitivities, instigated by 16-year-old future FD&A, Sonny White. The suitability of fire alarm warnings in special schools is a topic which has not been fully addressed in the Code of Practice for fire detection and fire alarm systems, BS 5839-1.

An interest group convened to formulate the guidance comprising of people with a personal interest and experience in the matter and experts in the fields of disability and fire safety. To find out more about the topic, download the FIA’s guidance document.
