TIER 2 – INTERMEDIATE FIRE RISK ASSESSORS

A Fire Risk Assessor operating to this level should be able to conduct a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment of the general fire precautions in buildings that are perceived to have:

a) moderate to medium fire risk and may be;

b) used for domestic residences occupied by less than 50 persons who may include temporary or transient residents who may be unfamiliar with the building; or

c) residents who have some impairments; or

d) retail and commercial buildings occupied by less than 100 staff and the public; and

e) less than 7 storey height above ground level and has no occupied basements,

f) with internal travel distances of less than 60 metres,

g) with no abnormal hazards, h) with a floor area below 600 square metres,

i) have multiple and unrestricted stairways and exit routes, and

j) are not substantially clad with combustible or unknown materials.
