The Association of Construction Quality Professionals: Enough is Enough

The Association of Construction Quality Professionals has provided a reporting app to highlight and anonymously report poor quality fire stopping or misuse of building and fire-stopping materials for further investigation.

Our FRA Register Chairman, Martin Bainbridge, said ‘The IFPO are pleased to see ACQP have provided a system for reporting poor workmanship and the incorrect use of fire stopping or building materials.’

Starting with accredited companies, the natural progression should be exposing Lead Contractors and other ReStarting with the reporting of accredited companies, the natural progression should be exposing Lead Contractors and other Responsible Persons who give the work to untrained and non-competent operatives.

A great reporting initiative for all to use including competent fire risk assessors who have been frustrated seeing non-compliant fire stopping for many years with limited reporting and corrective opportunities. 

We see this as a very good initiative and will be pushing Working Group 4 for a similar process to report and act upon unsuitable or insufficient fire risk assessment reports, driving up compliance be they FRA reports provided by certified, registered, 3rd party or unregistered assessors.
